In a heartwarming moment over the weekend, General Hospital star Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) used his platform to amplify an autism awareness post — and fellow GH cast member Daniel Goddard quickly joined in.

The Shoutout
Benard reposted an Instagram Story from the account @JessicaCapshawsuperfan, a fan page largely dedicated to Jessica Capshaw (Arizona Robbins on Grey’s Anatomy). Capshaw’s son has autism, and the fan account admin — who identifies as having Level 2 Autism — shared an emotional awareness post with a simple request:
“I’m sharing what Autism is with everyone, and I’d be grateful if you could spare a moment to watch. Can you all repost this and share on your story — it means a lot to me.”
Maurice Benard, who has long championed mental health awareness through his podcast State of Mind, didn’t hesitate to signal-boost the message.

Daniel Goddard Responds
While the post didn’t attract a flood of celebrity comments, Daniel Goddard — GH’s Professor Dalton — showed up in the comments. His message was simple and genuine: “See you and grateful for you” — followed by praying hands emoji.

A Cast That Shows Up
This is one of the things that makes the GH cast special. Even off-screen, they consistently show support — not just for each other, but for the fans who love them. Whether it’s mental health, autism awareness, or personal struggles, GH actors have a track record of using their platforms for good.
Could Jessica Capshaw Appear on State of Mind?
There’s speculation that Benard’s repost could hint at an upcoming State of Mind guest appearance by Jessica Capshaw. While nothing has been confirmed, Benart has a history of teasing future guests through social media interactions.
This past year, State of Mind has featured incredible guests sharing their mental health journeys. As Benart has said: his mission is to talk about mental health so others can say to themselves, “If he can do it, so can I.”
