General Hospital spoilers suggest that Ava Jerome (Maura West) is about to play her most dangerous card yet — and it’s aimed directly at the newly reunited Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst).
Ric has been selling himself as a reformed man. Liz has been buying it. But Ava knows the truth about what Ric did before his so-called “evolution” — and she has no intention of letting that truth stay buried.
What Ric Tried to Confess — And Why Liz Stopped Him
During the March 19 episode, Ric attempted to come clean to Elizabeth about his last major transgression. He wanted to tell her everything before they went any further. But Liz, feeling optimistic about their fresh start, stopped him mid-confession.
“Why dredge up the past if everything is cleared up?” was essentially her logic. They kissed, they moved forward, and Ric swallowed the truth he was about to spill.
The problem? What Ric did wasn’t a small mistake. It was blackmail, attempted theft, and physical violence — the kind of past that doesn’t stay buried in Port Charles.

The Full Story Ava Knows
Here’s what Liz doesn’t know: Ric and Ava were partners in blackmail. Together, they blackmailed Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) using evidence that Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) had cut the brakes on what she thought was Ava’s SUV — but was actually Ric’s vehicle. That act nearly cost both Ric and Liz their lives.
But Ric didn’t stop there. He and Ava used the leverage to force Alexis to steal funds from Ace Cassadine’s inheritance. Then Ric turned on Ava, wanting all the money for himself.
The situation exploded at Alexis’s house. Ava, realizing she’d been betrayed by Ric, knocked him over the head with a paperweight. What followed was straight out of a GH horror episode: Ava, Kristina, and Alexis held Ric hostage and drugged him in Alexis’s basement.
Ava’s Jealousy Is the Trigger
Ava has always been jealous of how Ric treated Elizabeth during their relationship. He doted on Liz in ways he never did with Ava, and that wound never fully healed.
Now that Ric and Liz are officially back together, that jealousy is reigniting. Ava doesn’t need a strategic reason to blow things up — although she has one. She needs an emotional one. And watching Ric play devoted boyfriend to the woman he treated better than her? That’s plenty of motivation.
Would Liz Forgive Ric?
This is the million-dollar question. Liz has forgiven a lot in her lifetime — but she also has a sharp moral compass when it comes to deception within her own relationships. If she learns that Ric was blackmailing Alexis, nearly got her killed in a car accident, and tried to steal from a child’s inheritance — all while telling her he’d changed — the betrayal would cut deep.
And there’s another layer: the growing chemistry between Liz and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) that viewers have been noticing. If Ric’s past blows up, Elizabeth might not just leave him — she might walk directly into Dante’s orbit. And GH might be counting on exactly that.
Ava’s Move Could Reshape Multiple Storylines
If Ava exposes Ric, the dominoes don’t just fall for Ric and Liz. Alexis could face renewed questions about what happened in her basement. Kristina could be exposed for the brake-cutting that started this entire chain of events. And Sonny — who just brought Ric into his fold — would have to reconsider whether his brother is really the man he claims to be.
Ava Jerome has always been Port Charles’s most unpredictable player. And right now, she’s holding a grenade with everyone’s name on it.
