The Chase fans rage ‘I’ve had enough of this show!’ as player’s ‘absolutely disgraceful’ tactic leaves them screaming at their screens and ‘annoyed for the rest of the night’

The Chase fans raged ‘I’ve had enough of this show!’ as a player’s ‘absolutely disgraceful’ tactic left them screaming at their screens on Tuesday night.

Shane, Rosie, Sarah and Peter took on Jenny Ryan AKA The Vixen on the latest instalment of the ITV show.

It was researcher scientist Shane, who was the last to show off his knowledge, was the contestant that infuriated viewers watching at home.

He managed to cash in £3,000 in the cash-builder round, and then went on to take on the Chaser, and decided to go with the lower offer of -£2,000 over £67,000.

Rosie and Sarah told him to go with the £3,000, but Shane said: ‘£3,000 seems good, I was thinking about that, but I might take the -£2,000 to be back with the team for the final chase. It’s all about the end game here.’

Many rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their frustration after he shared his final decision.

‘I have absolutely had enough of this show! Seat 4 has taken MINUS £2K For only £2K EACH!! This is an absolute disgrace! My eyes are bleeding! ITV are going to lose viewers if this is the kind of nonsense they are producing! The Chase? More like The Stupid! #TheChase.’

‘What is the point of this show anymore as the money is crap.’

‘I still cannot believe that people are seemingly coming on here for a good day out I mean it’s a one off chance and you want to take home a couple of grand I think the team dynamics needs to be checked in green room as a lot of team seem negative #thechase.’

‘Shane put the mockers on the team. Low offer Klaxxon #TheChase.’

‘Is his name Shane or Shame?’

#Hope the team loses tonight! This is a disgrace! #TheChase.’

Unfortunately the trio Shane, Rosie and Sarah were caught in the final round and they went home with nothing.

It comes after The Chase viewers were appalled by a ‘whole new level of useless’ after a contestant’s glaring blunder leaves Anne Hegerty squirming on Thursday – but can you solve the music question that wiped her out?

Murray, Shen, Gail and Jack took to the studio to take on Anne AKA The Governess in a bid to take home a cash prize.

Gail was the third player to see if she could bag herself a place in the final, and although Murray and Shen managed to successfully, it wasn’t so easy for her.

After bagging herself £3,000 in the cash-builder round, she struggled again and there was one question in particular that she was unsure of.

Host Bradley Walsh asked her: ‘Which of these was the name of a 1960s American folk-rock band?’

He then read out the options: The Lovin’ Spoonful, The Dancin’ Plateful or The Helpin’ Cupful.

Anna picked her answer straight away, but Gail was unsure and stayed very quiet as the presenter told her: ‘We need an answer now!’

Gail gasped as Bradley told her she was out of time and looked down at her buzzer in shock.

She confessed she would have picked the answer A – The Lovin’ Spoonful – which was the correct answer.

‘I can’t believe it!’ Gail fumed.

Anne knocked her out of the competition as she picked A and said: ‘Yeah bad luck, I mean The Grateful Dead were a rock band of the same era.

‘But yeah, The Lovin’ Spoonful, fronted by John Sebastian, who later went on to record the theme song to a TV show in the 70s called Welcome Back Kotter, which starred some young bloke called John Travolta.’

Bradley asked Anne: ‘You guys don’t like winning like this?’

To which she awkwardly replied: ‘Not especially, no. That’s unfortunate.’

Those watching at home rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their frustration Gail’s mistake.

‘That’s a whole new level of OH FOR F**K SAKE! on #TheChase tonight. Oh Gail.’

‘How on earth can you forget to press the button on a one question shootout! Deservedly caught.’

‘Failed to press the button! At least put something down! Useless contestant! #TheChase.’

‘Why the f**k would you just press nothing? #TheChase.’
