Britt’s exit from Port Charles is baked into the plot. Her Huntington’s medication is running out. Cullum controls the supply. And Jason — her ride out — is about to be kidnapped on a rooftop.
According to multiple leaks, Britt heads to Canada alone. She’s supposed to hand her medication to Brick (Stephen A. Smith) and lie low. But the source who shared this information added a critical note: “I don’t think that’s going to work out that way for Britt.”
That phrasing doesn’t exactly scream “vacation.”
Short Break — Not a Departure
CDL describes this as a “short break,” not a permanent exit. And there’s good reason to believe that. Britt is one of the most popular characters on GH. She’s central to the Cullum arc, the Jason love story, the Rocco connection, and the Huntington’s storyline. You don’t write off a character carrying that much plot weight.
Steve Burton is expected to return for filming in June (back on screen for July Sweeps). If Britt’s story follows the same timeline, Kelly Thiebaud could be back by summer — possibly with a major twist.
The New Love Interest
But here’s the plot twist nobody expected: CDL also dropped a separate story headlined “Casting Shocker: New Love Interest in the Works for Britt?”
If GH is casting a new love interest for Britt, that’s the strongest signal that Kelly Thiebaud is coming back. You don’t cast a new romantic partner for a character you’re writing off.
The identity of this love interest is still unknown. But given that Peter August may be alive, and Jason’s future with Britt is described as “friend-zone” — the door is wide open for someone new.
